plant community pine-oak-madrone woodland at 2390m (7840')notes understory margin along lower canyon drainage bottom in deeply eroded escarpment of volcanic tuff forming continental divide. Massive rock hodoos (the Monks) makes this area incredibly scenic in addition to richly diverse botanically. Note distinctive reflexed lower lobes of flower corolla.
