  • plant community   pine-oak forest at 2405 m (7890'')
  • notes   Seed in dehiscent fruit. Pine understory in rocky, volcanic tuffaceous rhyolite soil on gently undulating highland plain. Low spinescent shrub with grayish pubescence on stems & leaves, similar to more northern C. fendleri.
