  • plant community   Pine-oak woodland at 2137 m
  • notes   Pine shaded, fallow/overgrown pasture on low hillside in tuffaceous rhyolite gravels. This variety seem to be distinguished from var. apateticus largely by foliage characteristics and perhaps geographic range and is not recognized by many authorities.
