  • notes   Branches, twigs, foliage, and flowers of Eriodictyon altissimum...an interesting and very rare, federally-listed endangered species. It was growing here in poor sandstone-derived soils along the summit ridge of Indian Knob. Note the presence of 'black sooty mold' on some of the foliage, which was also seen in the Los Osos population, and is common on the widespread sister species Eriodictyon californicum.
