plant community tropical deciduious (short tree) scrub at 5250' (1770m) elev.notes roadside in steeply sloping volcanic rhyolite tuff rubble at mid canyon. Sites along the old gravel switchback road have now been largely destroyed by a new paved highway to Batopilas that also greatly restricts access to many former rich roadside collecting sites in the canyon.keywords: SMOc, Barranca Batopilas
