  • location   km 29, old unpaved Quirare to La Bufa swithback road between Quirare & La Bufa near El Puente Rancho Las Naranjas, 3.8 miles S of Quirare, 4.9 miles N of La Bufa bridge, Barranca Batopilas (Mcp. Batopilas, Chihuahua, Mexico)
  • family Polemoniaceae
  • plant community   tropical deciduious (short tree) scrub at 5250' (1770m) elev.
  • notes   roadside in steeply sloping volcanic rhyolite tuff rubble at mid canyon. Sites along the old gravel switchback road have now been largely destroyed by a new paved highway to Batopilas that also greatly restricts access to many former rich roadside collecting sites in the canyon.
