habitat endemic to Atacama region (III) , from coast to central valley. It lives in sandy soils, hiding in caves, where it skillfully bunotes Actually Liolaemus bisignatus (Philippi 1860) currently synonymous with L. nigromaculatus (Troncoso-Palacios & Garin 2013) . Given recent taxonomic changes in the species (Troncoso-Palacios & Garin 2013), it has been decided to consider valid records for the species that previously referred to L. bisignatus and L. copiapoensis. Records of L. nigromaculatus prior to 2013 are considered extremely questionable and not adequately know the identity and the type locality of the species. It lives in sandy soils in which he hides in caves. Typical of coastal and inland ecosystems of the Atacama desert. It is found in sandy biotopes, nimbly hiding in the dunes in dangerous situations. Their burrowing habits are also saw when he hide in caves builds (Pincheira-Donoso & Núñez 2005: 398).
