notes I like the red inner phyllaries here. Marin plant maven Doreen Smith comments that: 'The anomalous Bull Point Heterotheca has a different prostrate, spreading, flat, rhizomatous habit from the '“regular'” inland Marin H. sessiliflora ssp. bolanderi and each capitulum is solitary, and well-exserted from the leaves.
