location
Los Osos (San Luis Obispo County, California, US)notes This distinctive plant is listed as a rare and endangered species. From the species descriptions for Eriodictyon in the Jepson Manual it is the tallest species in the genus (up to 4 meters). The individual seen here is the tallest, most gangling, and woody-branched Eriodictyon plant I've ever seen. With its long arching branches and dense dangling clusters of narrowly-linear leaves...it definitely has a Dr. Seuss quality. For more info, see the 1st post in this series. photo category: Plant - shrub
