notes Small annual monkeyflower with a skunky odor that likes growing in the pumice flats north-east of Mammoth Lakes area (among other places). Visiting the flower here a member of one of my favorite dipteran groups...a ''microbombyliid'' in the genus Mythicomyia, with its characteristic ''duck-billed'' proboscis.
