  • notes   These images, created by Native Americans on exposures of Navajo Sandstone, are representative of a style that appears to be transitional between Barrier Canyon pictographs and later images from the Fremont culture. They show distinctive feature of both periods. Horseshoe Canyon is also referred to as Barrier Canyon.
