notes I find all the ''Chorizanthe segregate'' genera fascinating. The large, roundly perfoliate bracts here...with their three, subtle, spine-tipped mucros...have an other-worldly glaucous-pastel color. Together with the bifurcate branching at each node, and the semi-succulent, obovate basal leaves, they all make for a very interesting looking plant. I especially like the dense, red, glandularity present on the lower portions of each inflorescence branch, just above the perfoliate bracts. And the funnel-shaped involucres, with their 4 long spines and delicate cluster of flowers are also distinctive. What a great plant! :-)photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
