  • notes   Slo.: nageljnasta roža - syn.: Thelephora radiata, Holmskjoeld: Fries 1838 - Habitat: mixed wood edge, dominant Picea abies and Fagus sylvatica, at the foot of mountain scree slope overgrown with moss, lichens, grasses and small trees; calcareous ground; shallow, nutrients poor soil layer over rocks and coarse scree; limestone bedrock; under a young Picea abies; half shade and relatively warm southeast oriented place, exposed to direct rain; average precipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 7-9 deg C, elevation 640 m (2.100 feet), alpine phytogeographical region. - Substratum: soil pockets with wood debris among rocks overgrown with moss. - Comments: Growing solitary with a few sporocarps; diameter about 1.5 cm and about 2 cm high; taste and smell indistinctive; flesh somewhat brittle and fibrous, SP faint, brown, oac832(?). - Spores irregularly elliptic and tuberculate. Dimensions: 7.9 (SD = 0.3) x 6.2 (SD = 0.4) micr., Q = 1.28 (SD = 0.11), n = 30. Olympus CH20, NEA 100x/1.25, magnification 1.000 x, oil, in water.
