plant community Cloudy rain forests and bogs, 900-1800mnotes Endemic to the Hawaiian Islands. This is the only species of this genus which lives in Hawaii. They are epiphytic and this was growing on a small Ohia (Metrosideros polymorpha)along a ridge which is often hit with clouds, drizzle, and rain. Elevation around 4130ft/1259m.
