notes This image shows the lower part of the inflorescence. The plant had an open inflorescence with the lower flowers having long pedicels, and thus the Jepson Delphinium key might lead one astray at couplet 7 ending with D. patens . But D. patens has a signicantly different leaf shape: its lobes are much wider than the distinctively narrow (almost thread-like) leaf lobes found here and commonly on D. parryi spp. parryi.
