Little Petroglyph Canyon. Coso Range (Inyo County, California, US)notes Petroglyphs inscribed on basalt by Native Americans of the Coso Culture. These images depict two hunters with bow and arrow. There is no evidence of conflict or warfare in the many other petroglyphs in the area, so it is likely that this scene depicts a hunt rather than a battle. Most of the images in this area date from 2000 B.C. to about 1300 A.D., though some may be much older. The inclusion of the bow and arrow constrains the date of these images to sometime after 200 A.D. Site is on the Naval Air Weapons Station at China Lake.camera Canon EOS 7D, 100mm, f/8.0, 1/800 sec.
