habitat Found along hill streams in wet temperate forest at an altitude of about 2000m a.s.l.notes This species is presently known only from a single forest stream in Arunachal Pradesh's Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary at an altitude of about 2000m a.s.l. The taxon is named after the type locality - 'Bompu' which means bamboo locally and is one of the campsites in the sanctuary. The campsite is mostly dominated by bamboo forests with tracts of temperate broad-leaved evergreen forests. The specimen photographed shows some variations in the dorsal colour pattern from the holotype. The holotype has much darker traversal bands on the upper forearm and the legs and with the dorsum and head grayish brown as opposed to this specimen which has light variegation and a much lighter dorsum colour with olive-brown blotches.keywords: Leptobrachium, new species, Arunachal Pradesh, India, Eastern Himalyas
