INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Jul 28, 2005
  • location   Pioneer Basin, John Muir Wilderness (Fresno County, California, US)
  • family Saxifragaceae
  • notes   Detail of inflorescences of Lithophragma glabrum. While descriptions say the flowers are ususally pink, they also allow for 'rarely white'. Note the deeply cut petals, the bracted bulbils in the inflorescence, and the shape of the hypanthiums. All are in good agreement with L. glabrum, as is the location and habitat.
