notes Green, or Common tree snakes can be many different colours. Coastal north Queensland individuals are often black with a yellow belly, earning them the name 'Yellow-bellied black snakes'. This name is sometimes applied to venomous species in southern Australia, and may lead to confusion that Green tree snakes are venomous.
