notes Detail of flowers of Romulea rosea var. australis. This is a low growing showy (but unfortunately alien) weed with a dense tuft of very wiry cylindrical leaves that are tough and surprisingly difficult to tear off. The flowers occur virtually on the ground, and break off from their attachment point quite easily. It seems to prefer growing on fairly hard-packed soils near trails.photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
