  • location   Bank of the Mad River, approximately 1/4 mile upstream of the Hammond Trail Bridge, near Arcata (Humboldt County, California, US)
  • notes   This trail shows where a beaver came out of the river and walked up the bank. There are one front and one hind track near the ruler in the lower part of the photo. The beaver was traveling toward the camera. The long mark was made by dragging the tail.
