Along Portola Road. Portola Valley (San Mateo County, California, US)notes This 'sag pond' developed along the San Andreas rift zone. This view is looking across the fault from the North American Plate on the east side to the Pacific Plate on the west side. The trace of the ground rupture in the 1906 earthquake crossed this pond.
