plant community Scree cliffside in patchy oak woodland/chaparralnotes Detail of inflorescence. This single-stalked plant was impressively tall, reaching above my head (i.e. > 6 ft). Old Santa Monica Mountains lovers will recognize the orange blurlets in the background as the ubiquitous Mimulus aurantiacus:-)camera Shot on a Canon Digital Rebel XT at f8, 1/250, ISO 100 using a Canon 50mm Compact macro lens.
