notes It is very difficult to separate this from Abies lasiocarpa but in studying other images from the same tree it appears to me to be Picea englemannii as identified on original slide. | Reviewer's comments: | | | "The photo is clear enough, but I downloaded it and enlarged it to take a thorough look. The photo is definitely of a tree in the genus abies, not Picea. Then, looking at a tree distribution map of Colorado where the photo was taken, and the colour and shape of the needles and the purple cones, I come up with Abies lasiocarpa, or Subalpine Fir " |
