notes Growing in dense mats between just back from the beach. Haven't seen it elsewhere nearby on the coast. It keyed unambiguously in the Jepson Manual (some non-visible characters: disk pappus present; herbage glandular and long-hairy). The genus has undergone a name change, currently recognized name is Centromadia parryi ssp. p.camera Shot with a Canon Digital XT at f6.3, 1/60, ISO 100 using a Canon 50mm Compact macro lens.
