notes This rare species was presumed extinct inasmuch as no specimens were recorded since the last collected in 1935. Botanists Barbara Castro and Lawrence Janeway rediscovered the species in 1992 during a biological survey on the Horning Ranch, near the Butte County Landfill. Access to the property is limited; by owner's authority only, at the time of this writing.camera Sony DSC F828
