INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  May 28, 2007
  • location   Encanto Way, Stillwater Creek watershed, NE of Redding (Shasta County, California, US)
  • family Scrophulariaceae
  • plant community   volunteer in irrigated garden bed
  • notes   Moth mullein is a common weed in our neighborhood, especially in the riparian area below our property. After noticing that the volunteer mullein in my garden beds is better looking than many of the ornamentals I've tried to keep alive, I have let a few moth mullein stay in the garden each year.
