notes Out of its native Michigan/Wisconsin habitat and into my garden in the Puget Sound where it is a fine specimen. Some plants have spines; however, my plant is not a prickly plant that would give it characteristics of the Devil's tongue. Although the glochids are tiny spine tufts on the pads that can irritate. The edible reddish green fruits are called tunas and are 2-3 in long. The pulp is ruby red and tastes a little like watermelon.camera Kodak ES Z760
