habitat This one under decayed log with heavy leaf and forest litter layer; tan oak, douglas-fir, Pacific madrone dominanted late-maturenotes With Tom Kirk at Tish Tang -RETRO STUDIES STAND WAY DOWN - 5.5 MILES INTO BLOCKED TISH TANG RD. OLDER ADULT; ABOUT 10 inches plus. THIS ONE WAS UNDER A DECAYING LOG- CLASS 3- WITH A THICK FOREST LEAF LAYER AND DOUGLAS-FIR; PACIFIC MADRONE; & TAN OAK WERE THE DOMINANT TREES IN OVER & UNDERSTORY; MIXED WITH OLD GROWTH PINES AND CEDARS. THE WHOLE AREA IS LATE-MATURE FOREST GENERALLY AND WE LOOKED AT BOTH LATE -MATURE STANDS (GREATER 200 YEARS OF OVERSTORY GROWTH PRE-HARVEST) VERSUS HARVESTED/PLANTATION STANDS DOMINATED BY YOUNG DOUGLAS-FIR AND SHRUBS (LESS THAN 50 YEARS OF UNDERSTORY GROWTH SINCE HARVEST). FOUND DURING ONE 30-MINUTE TIME-CONSTRAINED SURVEY THAT DAY. ENSATINA & PLETHODON ELONGATUS PRESENT IN THE AREA WITH MANY DETECTIONS THROUGHOUT THE DAY.camera Nikon Digital
