South Fork Eel River near Redway, CA (Humboldt County, California, US)notes This family of young mergansers was swimming in the river at the same time I was snorkeling upstream. I saw them come out of the water onto the bank and I got out of the water, grabbed the camera and slowly made my way closer to them. They were remarkably tolerant of my approach. They finally took to the water and I snapped this photo as they swam by, all in a line behind their mother.camera Konica/Minolta Dimage Z2 digital 4MP
