  • notes   Photo shows emergent Brodiaea foliage as stiff, erect leaves amongst lower stature eurasian grasses, primarly Avena barbata and Bromus spp. The foliage in this condition is only visible within a few weeks of the season's first winter rains. Within a few weeks, the Brodiaea foliage falls over due to increased biomass, and becomes difficult to locate within the dense annual grass growth.
