habitat live oak chaparralnotes Adult male posed next to emergence hole in the base of shrubby interior live oak (Quercus wislizenii frutescens). The larvae bore in the living roots and root crown burl of this oak. This longhorn may be mimetic of similar-sized darkling beetles with which it is sympatric, including Eleodes and Coelocnemis.
