INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Oct 2001
  • location   French Camp and Jack Tone Roads (San Joaquin County, California, US)
  • family Chenopodiaceae
  • notes   Even though this is a noxious weed, the range of colors for its flowers is incredible. In the early Fall, they can color entire roadsides from white to scarlet, deep purple to pumpkin orange. A bit of advice - the thorns are very easy to get into your skin. They are exponentially difficult to remove!
