This photo was taken in the late afternoon, when the corollas had ''closed up'' for the day. Note the long, slender, maroon tube/throat of the flower. Former Linanthus with salverform flowers such as this species are currently placed in the genus Leptosiphon, but I'm posting these photos under Linanthus ambiguus so the 'More Details' page on CalPhotos will automatically link to the description for this taxon in the online Jepson Manual. photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
