location Bryce Canyon National Park, off of trail connecting Navajo Loop Trail with Peekaboo Trail (Garfield County, Utah, US)family Salicaceaenotes Habit and habitat, the subjects to right of center growing in the middle of a wash. This species readily hybridizes with Populus fremontii, and there are many intermediate forms between the two species. Populus x hinckleyana is the name given to the hybrid between the two, but this specimen seems to show leaf characteristics that are intermediate between P. angustifolia and P. x hinckleyana.
