notes Photo taken at a local statuary manufacturing company. Springs seep into the cement-walled sand bins and the salamanders frequent the moist environ. The owner says the critters are always around under polyethylene covers that cover the sand. The location is less than 1/2 mile from salt water. This is subspecies macrodactylum.
