location Sandy hillside along Upper Iowa River at Highway 76 (Allamakee County, Iowa, US)family Labiataenotes Another one of this year's oddities, I am seeing M. punctata in places I have never seen it before. This is one of those places in particular. The sandy bank is located behind a small grain milling operation right off the highway. Also growing in the bank at the same time as the M. punctata, are Partridge Pea and Ohio Spiderwort.camera Canon PowerShot SX10 IS, manual settingscontributor's ID # monarda_punctata_08_01_10_001 photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
