INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Aug 1, 2010
  • location  Sandy hillside along Upper Iowa River at Highway 76 (Allamakee County, Iowa, US)
  • family Labiatae
  • notes   Another one of this year's oddities, I am seeing M. punctata in places I have never seen it before. This is one of those places in particular. The sandy bank is located behind a small grain milling operation right off the highway. Also growing in the bank at the same time as the M. punctata, are Partridge Pea and Ohio Spiderwort.
