location Mangevo Forest, central-eastern Madagascar, next to Ranomafana NP (Madagascar)family Mantellidaenotes The taxonomy and nomenclature of Mantidactylus grandidieri and M. guttulatus is still in a preliminary status. Our still unpublished studies reveal that the populations of northern Madagascar previously attributed to M. grandidieri and M. guttulatus may belong to two still undescribed species, and that the populations from the eastern coast may belong to a single (or to a group of cryptic) species. The individual here depicted is a 'M. guttulatus' from the central-eastern rainforest of Mangevo, next to Ranomafana National Park.photo category: Animal - Amphibian
