INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Aug 8, 2005
  • location  YMCA Camp Ravencliff, near Redway, CA (Humboldt County, California, US)
  • notes   The kingsnake was eating the young rattlesnake. I also got some digital video footage of the kingsnake wrestling with the rattlesnake, and eating it. The rattlesnake was just slightly smaller than the kingsnake, and only had one rattle on its tail. The kingsnake swallowed the entire rattlesnake, head-first, in less than ten minutes.
