plant community manzanita barren with scattered pine-oak-madrone woodland at 2430m (7975')notes in shallow ponding swales and cracks on narrow flat lying plateau of volcanic tuff forming continental divide atop of deeply eroded escarpments. Massive rock hodoos (the Monks) makes this area incredibly scenic in addition to richly diverse botanically.keywords: SMOc, Valle de los Monjes
