A sand-loving, rhizomatous perennial long known under the synonym A. arenaria. Now reduced to varietal status under A tomentosa although it appears significantly different from the traditional A. tomentosa var. tomentosa from Arizona and California.keywords: CDR, Chihuahuan Desert
