Above the trail from abandoned hamlet Lemovlje to TV repeater, Planina Lemovlje, Trenta valley, East Julian Alps (Posočje, Slovenia)notes Slo.: brestova uhljevka - Habitat: Mixed wood, dominant Fagus sylvatica, Picea abies, Pinus. sp, Larix decidua, Ostrya carpinifolia, Fraxinus ornus, etc.; South inclined mountain slope, rocky terrain, calcareous bedrock; rather dry and warm place, partly in shade, exposed to direct rain, average precipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 5-7 deg C, elevation 890 m (2.900 feet), alpine phytogeographical region. - Substratum: Large, dead fallen Fagus sylvatica trunk, partly rotten, partly still in bark. - Comments: Fruit body gelatinous, rubbery when moist and very hard when dry. Lower side coarsely wrinkled. Pileus diameter up to 7 cm (3 inch), SP crème-gray (oac879), huts from light beige-gray (oac879) to almost black (oac901), hairy; hymenophore violet-brown (oac635). - Spore dimension data in Ref.1. is probably a mistake. - Spores smooth, cylindrical, sausage like.
