| Reviewer's comments: | | | "This looks like a larval E. cirrigera rather than a larval E. guttolineata. Larvae of the latter tend to have dorsolateral stripes that contain more melanin than those of E. cirrigera. The stripes often contain streaking in E. cirrigera (as in photo), but are more regularly pigmented in E. guttolineata. Also, E. guttolineata lack the pairs of dorsolateral spots seen in the photo. Compare this photo with photos of E. cirrigera larvae on Calphoto." |
