Oenothera sp. (Evening-primrose) | Close inspection reveals a four-lobed stigma, which distinguishes Oenothera from Camissonia, plus the latter do not have such large petals (in the southwest, anyway). I was unable to key the species, however, since the key requires seed capsules and a better idea of the size of the flower parts. No species description I can find in either The Jepson Manual or Arizona Flora mentions one with white petals with yellow centers, as shown here. |
