Common name is now: Pacific Wren. Formerly considered a single species - Winter Wren (T.hiemalis) has been split (51st AOU Checklist supplement, July 2010). Birds in the western US are now formally "Pacific Wren" Use of /Winter following Pacific will help to separate from the eastern species which retained both earlier common and scientific names.
