Collinsia concolor (Chinese Houses) |
Collinsia heterophylla var. heterophylla | The following indicate Collinsia heterophylla var. heterophylla and not C. concolor: Lack of distinct notching on banner lobes and wings, spots forming a horizontal band at base of banner. |

Collinsia heterophylla var. heterophylla |
Collinsia concolor (Chinese Houses) | Contacted Michael Park about ID and whether other photos from same population and those that look similar should be changed as well. Received no response. Photo is consistent with other C. concolor photos and occurs within concolor range. Photographed plants are outside of the known heterophylla range. |

| On subsequent review, by the urging of the photographer, I see characters that missed because of the angle from which the image was taken.
I see the notching on the lobes of the wings and banner. The violet hue (not an artifact of the photograph) of the corolla, as well as the elongated triangular in the field of spots at the base of the banner, support the initial identification by the photographer. |
