Castilleja applegatei ssp. martinii (Martin's Paintbrush) |
Castilleja miniata (Great Red Paintbrush, Scarlet Paintbrush) | This odd plant is close to C. miniata and may be a hybrid between C. miniata x C. linariifolia, the latter often being so colored on the east slopes of the Sierra Nevada. It is clearly NOT martinii. Note no sign of glandular hairs, no wavy-margined, leaves, and long, almost attenuate calyx lobes. |
